We are regularly asked about the nuts and bolts of political advocacy: how do the actions we ask you to take work, and why? How does Parliament work? What can MPs actually do to help end poverty?

So we’re running an advocacy skills training day on political advocacy. All are welcome, whether you are new to campaigning or have been taking campaign actions for a while. There’ll be a chance to meet other campaigners and to hear from experts in parliamentary engagement.

We’ll also be running a session on how to get others involved in RESULTS, as every new advocate helps us reach another MP and increases our influence with decision-makers.

The event will run from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday 23 November at the Quaker Meeting House in Sheffield. It’s free to attend, and lunch will be provided. We can help with travel costs for those of you coming from further afield – please ask us about this. You can sign up for the event here.
