LONDON, 12 April 2018: RESULTS UK welcomes the Secretary of State’s renewed commitment to global health partnerships to help tackle diseases like polio, TB and undernutrition and the announcement of new funding to the Power of Nutrition that will help give 5 million more children a healthy start.
Aaron Oxley, Executive Director of RESULTS said:
“The UK has shown global leadership on nutrition, from the strong commitments made at the Nutrition for Growth summit in 2013 to their pledge to reach 50 million by 2020.
Innovative funding mechanisms like Power of Nutrition are crucial to accelerating progress. Today’s announcement from the Secretary of State shows that the UK is stepping up to the challenge of ending malnutrition by 2030 and creating a world where everyone has the opportunity to survive and thrive.”
