In the last network-wide conference call of the year, we took some time to reflect on what a year it’s been! We’ve been part of successful campaigns for the replenishement of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria, Education Cannot Wait and the Global Polio Eradication Initiative and the UK’s contributions are something to celebrate. Looking ahead to 2020, we’ll be continuing our work on global health, nutrition and education and trying to build relationships across all the main political parties to gain the political will for more of the changes we want to see.

We were joined by Neil Raw from RESULTS to talk us through why advocacy will be key to ensuring the Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance pledging moment is a success next year; John McLaverty from the Send My Friend to School coalition who gave us an overview of their next campaign, which will tackle interrelated isssues of global education and climate change; and Naveed Chaudhri from RESULTS who told us why Nutrition for Growth is an opportunity which can’t be missed if we are to to realise SDG2: Zero hunger.

This month, we’re asking you to plan a visit to your newly-elected or re-elected MP to sensitise them to the campaigns we’ll be working on next year. More details and advice on our action page.

Thanks to everyone who has helped change the world with us this year!
