This month, we discussed a number of challenges to achieving RESULTS’ current advocacy goals, including the UK’s contributing resources to the Global Fund to Fight HIV, TB and Malaria, and to the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. With increased economic uncertainty, we recognise that the UK’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) budget is not likely to increase any time soon and could well decrease even further.

However, as campaigners who care deeply about overcoming global poverty, we must keep arguing for what we believe in. On this call, we heard from Nada Mounzer, Campaign Officer from the Send My Friend campaign and long-standing advocate for children’s rights, who described the importance of education in helping children around the world reach their potential. You can watch the recording here. Our action materials this month ask campaigners to contact their MPs, asking them to raise this important issue with the Government.
