Narayan Adhikari
Board MemberMr. Narayan Adhikari is a Nepalese social entrepreneur, governance innovator, and social justice activist. He is a Co-founder and South Asia Representative for the Accountability Lab. In his current position, Narayan has helped develop a number of creative tools for accountability and open government, including a pioneering television show called Integrity Icon; Gov-her-nance- an advocacy movement around accountability for gender rights and the Civic Action Teams (CivActs), a community feedback process in the Global South. He was the co-founder and South Asia Representative for the Global Youth Anti-Corruption Network (GYAC), a World Bank project.Â
Narayan has been honored by the BMW Foundation as a Responsible Leader, is an Aspen Institute New Voices Fellow and is a Young Leader with the Asia Society’s Asia 21 Network. His work at Accountability Lab led to the organization receiving the Anti-Corruption Excellence Award from the UN in 2018. In 2021, he was featured as one of the 100 most influential people to watch by Business360 Magazine, under the innovation category.Â
Narayan graduated from Stanford Business School in 2015 in non-profit leadership, has received an honorary degree from the International Anti-Corruption Academy, and previously received a MA in sociology and a BA in forestry. Narayan writes and speaks widely on issues of citizen engagement, open governance, anti-corruption and social change, and has been featured on the BBC, Al-Jazeera, Republica and many other outlets.Â
