let’s get back on track to achieve the SDGs

The 2023 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Summit took place from 18-19 September in New York, and at the halfway point, we are worryingly off track to deliver the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

World leaders gathered at the summit to review progress of the goals and guide accelerated actions to get back on track. And yet the pledges made by the UK lacked the urgency needed to accelerate progress. Furthermore, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak did not attend, becoming the first UK Prime Minister to not attend the UN General Assembly in a decade, reinforcing the perception of the UK’s decreasing commitment to international development.

As we move into the second half of the 2030 Agenda, the UK must re-establish itself as a committed supporter of the SDGs and take action to ensure their delivery both domestically and abroad. This month, please meet with your MP to share your concern that the UK is not on track to deliver the goals. Download our action sheet for more details.
